INTRODUCTION
Server is a centralized system that processes requests and provides services to the clients over a network. Servers are designed with more processing power, memory capacity and a large storage for data. Setting up and maintaining the server is a complex and daunting task for anyone. We, at TEFUGEN, provide efficient and effective solution for server set-up.
Problems faced in servers
- High setup and maintenance cost
- Data loss due to server failure
- Lack of security
- Maintenance difficulty
- Network congestion
Proxy server
A proxy server is a server (a computer system or an application) that acts as an intermediary for requests from clients seeking resources from other servers. A client connects to the proxy server, requesting some service, such as a file, connection, web page, or other resource available from a different server and the proxy server evaluates the request as a way to simplify and control its complexity. Proxies were invented to add structure and encapsulation to distributed systems. Today, most proxies are web proxies, facilitating access to content on the world wide web and providing the unusual features. We set up open source proxy server which has in-built security features that allows you to use the clients in the network in a safe manner.
File server
A file server is a computer responsible for the central storage and management of data files so that other computers on the same network can access the files. A file server may be a dedicated system, such as network attached storage (NAS) device, or it may simply be a computer that hosts shared files. Dedicated file servers are typically used for enterprise applications, since they provide faster data access and offer more storage capacity than non-dedicated systems. Files can be backed up more easily when they are all on a central fileserver rather than when they are scattered across a number of independent workstations.
Thin – client server
Thin-client hardware normally require only a keyboard, a monitor and a network connection to access programs and resources. Dedicated thin clients usually do not have hard disk drives (HDDs), CDROM drives, floppy disk drives and expansion slots. This results in both lower cost and increased security. We provide open source thin client – server facility which is more helpful for very small enterprises with less number of systems and more people to work. A thin client is a device that connects to a computer in the network to do computation. We set up a powerful thin client server in which any number of thin clients can get connected and this does not affect the performance of computer. This will help to get more benefits out of the available limited resources.
Database server
We configure database server in a way that it can be accessed through both front end and back end. This will help you to save costs for maintaining data.
Application server
Application server handles applications of a company from a centralised location. Common applications need not be installed in individual systems, rather they can be accessed from the centralised server. This method reduces maintenance work to a great extent.
